The Spread of Disease in South Africa
I conducted a community study on issue of HIV/AIDS and read the Dec 2006 AIDS Epidemic Update. I started studying HIV/AIDS awareness-building campaigns and Interviewed people in the Khayalitsha community about their take on the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Specifically, I interviewed Dr. Virginia de Azevedo, Sub-District Manager, Khayalitsha Health Authority regarding what initiatives have taken place regarding HIV/AIDS awareness in Khayalitsha. Then, I collected relevant information from thebody.com, aids.org, and avert.org, concentrating on the impact of HIV/AIDS specifically in South Africa.
